The 3.5L Duratec V6 generates 263 horsepower, a dramatic boost from the 153 horses that powered the previous Taurus. This potent powerplant is engineered with dual overhead cams activating four valves per cylinder with advanced variable cam timing technology.

6-Speed Transmission
Taurus' advanced 3.5L Duratec V6 is mated to an equally advanced 6-speed automatic transmission. It features a wide span of gear ratios across the six speeds, providing responsive acceleration at the low end and enhanced fuel economy at the overdrive 6th gear.
